Arizona Secretary of State Kicks Off Effort to Salute the Fallen
Battleship Guns Represent Historic Bookends to WWII
For most Americans, World War II began with an attack on Pearl Harbor and ended in Tokyo Bay. Arguably, two of the most striking reminders of these historic moments in time are the sinking of the USS Arizona and Japanese surrender aboard the USS Missouri.
As a tribute to the fallen soldiers of WWII, Secretary of State Ken Bennett and the Salute the Fallen Committee are spearheading an effort to bring a gun from each battleship to Phoenix for permanent display by this year's 71st anniversary of the attack that forced the United States into the war.
And you can help...
Please join our effort to get these historic guns from the USS Missouri and USS Arizona. Once the guns arrive, volunteers will refurbish the gigantic military artifacts for permanent display in Wesley Bolin Memorial Park at the Capitol in Phoenix.
To make a donation, you can simply text "SOS" to 50555 and a one-time $10 contribution will automatically be added to your bill.
Or bring the guns to Arizona by making a tax deductible contribution via PayPal. No account necessary!
